About FERMA CU OMENIE SRL
Our story began in 1994 in the picturesque village of Unirea, Alba County. We are a 100% Romanian family business, now in its second generation, dedicated to the art of cheesemaking for over 30 years. What started as a small dream has grown into a cornerstone of Transylvanian tradition, fueled by hard work and a deep respect for the land.
From Farm to Table: A Closed Loop of Quality
What sets us apart is our "all-in-one-yard" philosophy. Our farm and factory share the same location, ensuring that the milk goes from our cows to the production line with zero delay.
The Land: We manage over 800 hectares of arable land and 200 hectares of pasture, growing the very grains that feed our livestock.
The Animals: We believe that happy cows give the best milk. By caring for our animals with "omenie" (humanity/kindness), they reward us with milk rich in proteins and nutrients.
The Process: Led by Marius Bîcu Jr. since 2002, our facility was modernized with European SAPARD funds, evolving from a small team of 10 to one of the most significant dairy investments in the region.
