About FERMA CU OMENIE SRL
Our story began in 1994 in the picturesque village of Unirea, Alba County. We are a 100% Romanian family business, now in its second generation, dedicated to the art of cheesemaking for over 30 years. What started as a small dream has grown into a cornerstone of Transylvanian tradition, fueled by hard work and a deep respect for the land.
From Farm to Table: A Closed Loop of Quality
What sets us apart is our "all-in-one-yard" philosophy. Our farm and factory share the same location, ensuring that the milk goes from our cows to the production line with zero delay.
The Land: We manage over 800 hectares of arable land and 200 hectares of pasture, growing the very grains that feed our livestock.
The Animals: We believe that happy cows give the best milk. By caring for our animals with "omenie" (humanity/kindness), they reward us with milk rich in proteins and nutrients.
The Process: Led by Marius Bîcu Jr. since 2002, our facility was modernized with European SAPARD funds, evolving from a small team of 10 to one of the most significant dairy investments in the region.
Our Authentic Dairy Selection
We pride ourselves on respecting original recipes while embracing modern culinary tastes. Our range includes:
Traditional Favorites: Lightly salted cow’s milk Telemea, fresh cottage cheese, and the iconic "Brânză de Burduf."
Gourmet Aged Cheeses: Unique varieties infused with truffles, chili, walnuts, basil, or cumin—perfect for sophisticated platters.
Curated Gift Packs: "Pachet de Acasă" and holiday selections that bring the authentic taste of the Romanian countryside to your doorstep.
Built on Trust and "Omenie"
With a 4.9/5 star rating based on over 3,200 reviews, our community confirms that we are doing things differently. We prove every day that cheese can be both delicious and natural, that animals deserve the best care, and that honest human labor should be celebrated.
